Leonard lived and worked in the Chicagoland area all of his life.

Biographical and Professional Information

Dubkin was an urban naturalist and Chicago writer who immersed himself in Chicago’s natural history. He wrote several books on nature in the city, wrote a widely read nature column for Lerner Newspapers in Chicago for many years, and published frequently in major national newspapers Chicago Tribune and New York Times. There is a small quarter acre park located along Ashland Avenue in the Rogers Park neighborhood of Chicago named after him.
