Daniel lived in Urbana, Illinois and taught at the University of Illinois. Rober Ebert was one of his students.

Biographical and Professional Information

An educator and editor as well as an author, Daniel Curley was a novelist and short story writer who won O. Henry and Flannery O'Connor awards as well as several arts council awards for his work. An English professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1955 until his death, he had previously taught at Syracuse University and at Plattsburgh State Teachers College. Daniel died as a result of an automobile accident while on vacation in Florida.
