Biographical and Professional InformationPat Byrnes tried his hand as a design engineer, stand-up comic, advertising copywriter, and voice-over actor before turning to cartooning in 1998. His cartoons have been published in ''The New Yorker'', ''Reader's Digest'', ''America Magazine'', ''USA Weekend'', ''Ms''., ''Catholic Digest'', ''Barron's'', ''The Wall Street Journal'', ''Better Homes & Gardens'', and the ''Bulletin of Atomic Scientists''. His work has been featured in several anthologies, including ''The New Yorker Book of Kids Cartoons'', ''The New Yorker Book of Golf Cartoons'', and ''The New Yorker 75th Anniversary Cartoon Collection''.
