Biographical and Professional InformationSchuyler was a poet, novelist and playwright. He attended Bethany College in West Virginia and then moved to New York City. There, he worked for NBC before moving to Ischia, Italy to attend the University of Florence. After returning to the United States, Schuyler setteled in New York City where he was a central figure in the New York School and worked at the Museum of Modern Art. Schuyler was also an art critic at ''Art News''and a contributor to various periodicals including the ''New Yorker'', ''Poetry'' and ''Paris Review''.
