Just FYI, the LBPH Wiki page "Local Digital Recording" maintains a list of recording studios by state with information about who uses what software: https://lbphwiki.aadl.org/recording_studios_by_state

Our studio has transitioned from LCM for recording/markup to Hindenburg for recording/markup, although we have yet to complete/finalize our first born-digital book. I know we purchased a 5-year license agreement for Hindenburg and are emailed an update key once per year.

Thanks,

Nebraska is using two annual subs of HABC for DTB navigation markup only, and Soundforge for recording/editing/postproduction.

While there are some advantages to recording w/Hindy in terms of front-end prep for DTB production, I think it's a pretty lousy program for postproduction/editing, and I'll never get over the half-waveform graphic display. I think "real" recording software, including Soundforge, Adobe, Cubase, Logic, ProTools, Audacity, etc, still offer much more power in terms of effective editing and postproduction tools, all the more important when working with volunteers instead of paid professional narrators. I can't imagine a workflow in which I would want to give up that editing ability to record in Hindy.

Thanks for the feedback so far.

We've been using Adobe Audition for recording in our 8 audio booths and the very vintage Book Wizard for markup.
Does Hindenburg incorporate sound sweetening tools and audio recovering elements?

Here in Texas we've been using HABC "Hindy" for nav-markup (not for recording narration) since about 2014. We love the program and find it to be an excellent piece of software. We are on an annual subscription with 10 licenses. :)

However, increasingly byzantine bureaucratic red-tape makes it an incredibly frustrating headache each and every year when we have to renew. :(

Hey Folks,

First time posting here.

I was wondering how many services are using Hindenburg for production and in what capacity?

Annual Subscription?
Standard buy-out licensing?

What has worked the best and which for you has been most cost effective?

Many Thanks,
