[Studiotalk] Studio Recording Booth Vent/Blower Issues

Hello everyone,

My name is David, and I work in the studio at the Minnesota Braille and Talking Book Library in Faribault, MN.

It seems that we are getting some noise in our recordings due to the ventilation system/blower installed on the booth.

The booth was originally made by Industrial Acoustics Company, however, we were informed that IAC was acquired by Eckel.

I have tried getting in contact with Eckel (multiple times), but I have been having a very difficult time getting any kind of response.

I was wondering:


1)      Do any of the other Network Libraries use a (similar) booth-type recording set-up?

2)      If there are any booth users, have any of you ever had a similar issue, and how were you able to solve it?

3)      Does anyone know of alternatives to Eckel that might be able to assist us with this issue?


I have included some of the specifications of our booth blower just in case:

Industrial Acoustics Company Inc.
Blower Characteristics: V100 Blower Silencer 11 Volts Single Phase 60 cycles - 24 Watts each.

The date on the original drawings was 1983, so this is rather old equipment.

I would be very grateful for any information anyone may be able to provide.
