Your most likely avenue for success in having this title recorded would be through the National Library Service or, possibly, through a regional, state recording program that has some connection with the author. It appears the author is a native of Cresco, Iowa (his listing can be found via search of this page: https://iowapowmia.org/veteran-links/).
As the book was published in 2006 and has not been produced in audio book format, it is unlikely to be done so on the commercial level, unless the author chooses to finance such a project.

Subject: [EXT] [Studiotalk] Requests for getting books recorded?
Hi everyone,
I was just curious what the process is of getting a book recorded on audio. We just had a patron call for the book "Thick Luck: The Search for POW's and MIA's" which I found on Amazon as print but no audio. This patron is a veteran and said this book mentions a buddy of his that was shot down, so naturally I want to skip all the lines and get this book recorded for his as soon as possible! How would I go about getting on a "To be recorded" list?
thanks!!

“Books are the eyes of the blind. They reveal to us the glories of the light-filled world, they keep us in touch with what people are thinking and doing, they help us to forget our limitations. With our hands plunged into an interesting book, we feel independent and happy.” Helen Keller, 1930
