<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="color:#1F497D">We use Adobe Audition for editing. It has a noise reduction tool that allows you to capture a “noise print” and then remove said noise from a file. I typically use it to get rid of hiss and hum in our A-to-D
recordings, but I imagine you could use it to get rid of indexing tones if you wanted.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">We’ve been talking about Hindenburg plug-ins here in Minnesota as well. Only I’ve been wondering if a plug-in exists that could remove the old tones from cassette/reel recordings. You know, the tones that
indicate a chapter or whatnot. My pipedream would be that you could locate that specific tone and take a sample of it, and then the plug-in would scour the entire recording looking for instances of that pitch and then either flag them or remove them instantly.<o:p></o:p></span></p>
