Linden,
I experienced a similar issue in the past, but the culprit was my USB audio interface that had gone a little wacko. I unplugged the cable - thus shutting it down - and plugged it back in and the problem went away and never returned.

Subject: Scratchy / distortion sound during recording in Hindenburg
Hello,
I have had a problem develop with my Hindenburg recording software lately. I have had a scratchy sound develop while recording which has meant that I have had to rerecord some sessions. I have been able to fix it on occasion by shutting down the software and rebooting it, but often when recording you cannot tell it is scratchy until you stop to go back to correct an error. Has anyone else run into this issue?
